The name “Confiscated” pays homage to a warehouse of Kentucky Owl barrels lost in 1916. On the eve of Prohibition, utilizing the growing strength of the temperance movement, the government seized over $40 million of bourbon from then-Master Blender C.M. Dedman. Between the seized stock and the damaging effects of Prohibition, Kentucky Owl faded into obscurity.

Confiscated will be the lowest ABV bottling from the brand to date, clocking in at 94.6 proof. They state drinkers will enjoy “notes of oak, caramel, mesquite banana bread and dark chocolate.” They note that the palate is “complex with soft woodiness, sweetness of a banana pudding vanilla wafer” and that we can expect “a pleasant spicy citrus finish.”
